With the "Report System Error" function STEP 7 provides a convenient option for displaying diagnostics information in the form of messages. STEP 7 automatically generates the blocks and message texts required for this. All users have to do is load the blocks generated into the CPU and transfer the messages into the WinCC project.

Requirements:You must fulfill the following requirements to be able to use the "Report System Error" function:

• The WinCC project is integrated in the STEP 7 project.
• At least STEP 7 V5.1 is required.
• At least WinCC V5.1 is required.
• The WinCC component "AS-OS Engineering" is installed.
